My Favorite Books

  1. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

    The book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea tells the story of three men who go to sea in search of a giant whale. They are taken prisoner on board the world's first submarine – the Nautilus. In the classic science fiction adventure novel, The Nautilus travels through the world's seas. The men see amazing deep-sea creatures, and they travel to remote islands. They find sunken treasure, and they discover the lost world of Atlantis. The plot develops and they even travel under thick ice to the South Pole. The characters cross the world under the sea in many adventures.



  2. Les Misérables by Victor Hugo

    Set in early 19th-century France, Les Misérables is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his desire for redemption, released in 1815 after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. The classic French historical novel spans many years as Valjean's release from prison and reformation it tells of as an industrialist while being constantly pursued by the morally strict inspector Javert.



  3. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

    The book Oliver Twist tells the story of young orphan Oliver Twist, his life in the workhouse is lonely and sad. This is Charles Dickens's second novel. Oliver becomes an apprentice for an undertaker but runs away after he gets into a fight with another apprentice. When Oliver arrives in London, he meets Jack, also known as the Artful Dodger, who offers him a place to stay. Unfortunately, Jack and his gang are pickpockets, who work for an unscrupulous career criminal called Fagin. Oliver needs to discover how to survive this new turn of events.



  4. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

    The book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz brought joy to generations. When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. This american children's novel written by L. Frank Baum tells the story of Dorothy and her new friends as they follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.



  5. The Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

    Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes a collection of short stories originally published in two separate books: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. The stories of the first book and the stories of the second bookinvolve the peculiar exploits of the sharp-witted detective Sherlock Holmes, whose fierce energy and acute observation and reasoning skills enable him to solve the strangest of crimes.
